PE Pipe Connections: Lock-Ring & Compression-Grip

Two established construction families, each available in coupling and flange-adaptor form.
AQUAFITTING offers two distinct mechanical connection families for polyethylene (PE) pipes: Lock-Ring and Compression-Grip. Each family includes a flange adaptor for a pipe-to-flange connection and a coupling for joining two pipe ends. Choose the connection task first, then the construction family and exact size.

P11/P12 are identified by the continuous lock-ring construction and shorter fastening arrangement. P13/P14 use the separately documented segmented compression construction with exposed longer fasteners. The two families have their own component arrangements and dimensional references.
How sealing and gripping work together
The catalogue names an EPDM sealing component and a brass grip ring. They are separate parts in the documented constructions. Their presence alone does not establish an end-load rating or a shared assembly procedure across P11–P14.
Both families' source material lists include a brass grip ring. The distinction is therefore not “brass versus no brass”. Nor should a ring or gasket from one family be assumed interchangeable with a similar-looking part from the other.
Features and practical value
A choice of connection format. A flange adaptor ends at a flange interface, while a coupling has two pipe connections. This allows selection for either two pipe ends or a pipe-and-equipment interface without confusing the two formats.
A visible construction distinction. Family-specific photographs, sections and dimensions make it possible to identify the appropriate assembly for a new connection or a parts enquiry without relying on an old “new series” label.
Pipe OD remains separate from flange DN. In the P11 catalogue, DN100 appears with pipe OD 90, 110 and 125 mm. The P13 DN100 entry shows OD110 mm. The series and exact row are essential parts of the specification.
Pipe materials and construction
The PE application scope stated here is specific to these four product records. Pipe grade, wall thickness or SDR, and any internal-support requirement must be matched to the selected configuration rather than treated as one rule for every PE connector.
The 2023 catalogue identifies ductile iron GGG-50 bodies, EPDM seals, brass grip rings, A2 stainless steel fasteners and epoxy coating. It identifies P11/P13 flange-adaptor families through DN300; the separate P12 and P14 coupling references have different stated OD scopes. In particular, the older P14 title and its smallest rows disagree, so use a verified current row rather than expanding that headline range. Do not treat the listed construction options as one guaranteed supplied assembly.
