A split-body external repair format with a defined diameter and length selection.
The AQUAFITTING Two-Piece Ductile Iron Repair Clamp, identified as UU, is an external split-body product for pipeline repair applications. Two housing sections enclose an elastomeric sealing element around the pipe. Side fasteners hold the assembly together, giving it a different installation geometry from a one-piece sleeve that has to pass over a free pipe end.
How the split assembly works
The catalogue drawing shows two housing sections, fasteners and a sealing element around a pipe. The drawing identifies the split form; it does not, by itself, establish a field repair method or suitability for a particular damage state.
The housing provides the external structure; the gasket provides the sealing interface. These functions should not be confused with an approved reconstruction of pipe-wall strength or a verified axial restraint connection.
Features and practical value
Access around the pipe. The split configuration is useful where the required assembly approach is from around the pipe rather than along it. Actual access, excavation and working conditions remain part of the repair assessment.
Defined diameter intervals. The clamp is selected against the measured pipe outside diameter. An internal model label or nominal size is not a substitute for the stated diameter window.
Separate length selection. The catalogue gives a longitudinal L dimension as well as the pipe diameter interval. Diameter matching and physical assembly length are separate checks. L must not automatically be presented as the maximum repairable defect length.

D min–max is the pipe diameter window. L and B refer to the dimensions shown in the product drawing. The DN300 entry lists a pipe OD interval of 320–328 mm, illustrating why nominal designation and measured diameter must be kept separate.
Construction and repair scope
The catalogue identifies a ductile iron GGG-50 body, EPDM/NBR/SBR gasket options, carbon steel fasteners with stainless steel available, and epoxy coating. Those describe the clamp itself; they do not establish the material of the pipe being repaired.
Specify the pipe material, measured diameter, surface condition, defect location and required sealing coverage for the selected UU configuration. Material applicability and the pressure rating must be established for the exact UU configuration. Diameter fit alone is not approval for every pipe material, defect type or operating condition; nor does the split construction establish suitability for live-pressure work or structural rehabilitation.
