Universal Coupling
Join two plain pipe ends within selected OD ranges. This wide tolerance coupling connects pipe ends within the selected outside-diameter range. A non-restrained connection, not for PE pipes. Select the exact product row and assembly drawing.
Pipe compatibility
Pipe-material compatibility must be confirmed for the selected configuration. Supply the actual pipe material and measured outside diameter.

Connection arrangement

Connection and selection
Two pipe ends
Measure and select each pipe end separately. Confirm any end-load restraint requirements for the installation.
Pipe material
Provide the pipe material and measured OD. A range or family name does not establish universal pipe compatibility.
Assembly selection
Confirm the seal, service conditions and required installation dimensions for the selected size.
Structure and sealing
The coupling body spans the two plain pipe ends. End rings, seals and fasteners form the sealing assembly at each end; the section drawing shows how these parts are arranged. Confirm any end-load restraint requirements separately.
Materials and configuration
The product catalogue lists a carbon-steel or ductile-iron body, ductile-iron end rings, and EPDM, NBR or SBR seals. Fastener options listed are carbon steel, SS304 or SS316. Confirm the specified combination for the selected size and service conditions.
Select both pipe ends
Measure the actual outside diameter of each pipe end and check both against the range for the selected coupling. Nominal DN alone does not establish a fit. If the two pipe ends require different ranges, ask us to confirm the appropriate configuration.
Coupling or flange adaptor?
A Universal Coupling joins two plain pipe ends. A Universal Flange Adaptor connects a plain pipe end to a flange. Compare MAXI and ULTRA using their own OD ranges, drawings and configuration requirements.

What should I specify for a Universal Coupling?
Provide the measured outside diameter and material of both pipes, working pressure, medium, quantity and required installation dimensions.
Which documents are available?
Use the product drawing, dimension table and English product summary shown on this page. Ask for installation information for the selected configuration.
Does the name “Universal” mean it fits every pipe?
No. Check both pipe ends against the selected OD range and confirm the pipe material, seal and installation configuration.
Is Universal Coupling 109–128 mm the same product as 107–128 mm?
Yes. The Universal Coupling referred to as 109–128 mm corresponds to the catalogue 107–128 mm product. Use the 107–128 mm row in the dimension table and provide the measured outside diameter of both pipes when enquiring.
Looking for a Ranger coupling alternative?
For a non-restrained connection between two plain pipe ends, compare the AQUAFITTING Universal Coupling catalogue ranges with the measured outside diameter of each pipe. Provide the pipe material, working pressure and original specification with your enquiry. A stepped or restrained Ranger coupling requires a separate selection review.
